In 1984, we installed a Charentais still and distilled Sagardoa for the first time. Since then, we have been working on 3 varieties of this distilled spirit generally called Sagardoz, which means “of apple” in Basque. All these processes are carried out at our cider house in Astigarraga.

Sagardoz White (40% vol.)

It is the result of the fractional distillation of the Sagardoa in our copper still. We choose the best apples, ferment and distil the liquid, but not the pulp, and the result is a fine cider brandy.

Colourless, it combines the strength of its youth with the elegance provided by the freshness of the apple. Sharp, with light touches of liquorice and an elegant and deep sensation on the palate.

Consumption recommendations: Highly recommended as a digestive at the end of a meal, taken neat and cool. Cold or on ice.


Sagardoz Gozoa

We begin with the distilled spirit of Sagardoa made in our still (Sagardoz Blanco). In this alcohol, we mash the apple, integrating the sugars, acids, flavours and aromas of the sweet and sharp apple selected for this purpose, therefore reducing the alcohol content.

Consumption recommendations: It can be consumed cool or cold, on ice or neat, at the end of a meal or gathering. This original and distinctive product is highly suitable for consumers who love sweet flavours.

Sagardoz Vintage (40% vol.)

Once we obtain the White Sagardoz through distillation in the cider house, we age Sagardoz in oak barrels for a minimum of 3 years, transforming its colour, aroma and flavour. The result is this Vintage Sagardoz.
The colour of old gold, it has an intense and complex aroma. It has notes of fresh apple, as well as plum. A spicy background with hints of cedar, tobacco and oak. Elegant on the palate, silky and balanced.
Consumption recommendations: a complex drink, given that it has aged in wood. You can enjoy it in a balloon glass, not cold, and appreciate the character of a vintage spirit. However, new trends suggest consuming it on ice. To the consumer’s taste.
